Check for a short to ground between the No. 13 (7.5 A) fuse
in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the right side wire
harness:

1. Disconnect the front passenger's tension reducer

solenoid connector.

2. Erase the DTC memory (see page

24-87

).

3. Read the DTC (see page

24-84

).

Check the No. 13 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay
box (see page

24-92

):

Short to ground in the No. 13 (7.5 A) fuse related circuit;
refer to the

section 23

and continue troubleshooting.

Check for an open between the right side wire harness and

the SRS main harness (1):

1. Disconnect the main wire harness 8P connector from the

SRS main harness (see page

24-93

).

2. Check resistance between the No. 2 terminal of the main

wire harness 8P connector and body ground.
There should be 0 - 1.0

Check for a short to ground in the hot line:

1. Disconnect the airbag connectors (see page

24-33

).

2. Disconnect the SRS main harness 18P connector from

the SRS unit (see page

24-92

).

3. Check resistance between the No. 12 terminal of the SRS

main harness 18P connector and body ground.

There should be 1 or more.

Check for a short to ground between the right side wire har-
ness and the SRS main harness (1):

1. Disconnect the right side wire harness 3P connector from

the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch (see page

24-92

).

2. Check resistance between the No. 13 terminal of the SRS

main harness 18P connector and body ground.

There should be 1 or more.

Check for an open between the right side wire harness and the
SRS main harness (2):

1. Disconnect the right side wire harness 24P connector

(see page

24-97

).

2. Check resistance between the No. 14 terminal of the right

side wire harness 24P connector and body ground.
There should be 0- 1.0

Check for an open between the right side wire harness and the
SRS main harness (3):

1. Disconnect the right side wire harness 3P connector from

the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch (see page

24-92

).

2. Check resistance between the No. 2 terminal of the front

passenger's seat belt buckle switch 3P connector and
body ground.

Check for a short to ground between the right side wire har-
ness and the SRS main harness (2):

1. Disconnect the right side wire harness 24P connector

(see page

24-97

).

2. Check resistance between the No. 13 terminal of the SRS

main harness 18P connector and body ground.

There should be 1 or more.

Check for a short to ground between the right side wire

1. Disconnect the main wire harness 8P connector from the

SRS main harness (see page

).

2. Check resistance between the No. 13 terminal of the SRS

main harness 18P connector and body ground.

There should be 1 or more.

Check for a short to ground in the low line:

1. Check for the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch is

disconnected.

2. Check resistance between the No. 13 terminal of the SRS

main harness 18P connector and body ground.

There should be 0 - 1.0 or more.

Check for an open or short to ground in the front passenger's
seat belt buckle switch:

1. Disconnect the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch

3P connector (see page

24-92

).

2. Check resistance between the No. 2 and No. 1 terminals of

the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch 3P connector.
There should be 0- 1.0

3. Check resistance between the No. 3 and No. 1 terminals

of the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch 3P con-
nector. There should be 1 or more.

Check for a short to another wire between the right side
wire harness and the SRS main harness (1):

1. Disconnect the right side wire harness 3P connector from

the front passenger's seat belt buckle switch (see page

24-92

).

2. Check resistance between the No. 12 and No. 13 terminals

of the SRS main harness 18P connector.
There should be 1 or more.

Check for a short to another wire between the right side
wire harness and the SRS main harness
(3):

1. Disconnect the main wire harness 8P connector from the

SRS main harness (see page

24-93

).

2. Check resistance between the No. 12 and No. 13 terminals

of the SRS main harness 8P connector.
There should be 1 or more.

Check for a short to another wire between the right side
wire harness and the SRS main harness (2):

1. Disconnect the right side wire harness 24P connector

(see page

24-97

).

2. Check resistance between the No. 12 and No. 13 terminals

of the SRS main harness 18P connector.
There should be 1 or more.
