TCS Indicator Light Does Not Come On

The TCS indicator light does not come on when ignition switch is turned ON (II).

The TCS indicator light does not
come on when ignition switch is
turned ON (II).

Check the METER (15 A) fuse in the
under-hood fuse/relay box and
METER (7.5 A) fuse in the under-
dash fuse/relay box.

Are the fuses OK?

Check for an open in the IG1 cir-
cuit:

1. Disconnect the gauge assem-

bly 22P connector.

2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. Measure the voltage between

the gauge assembly 22P con-

nector terminal No. 22 and
body ground.

Is there battery voltage?

Is the bulb OK?

Check the gauge assembly:

1. Connect the gauge assembly

22P connector.

2. Connect the gauge assembly

22P connector terminal No. 7
to body ground with a jumper
wire.

Does the TCS indicator light

come on?

NOTE: All indicator lights except the charging

system indicator light will not come on when
one of these fuses is blown.

Replace the fuse(s) and recheck.

NOTE: Reinstall the fuses if they are OK.

GAUGE ASSEMBLY 22P CONNECTOR

Repair open in the wire between

the METER (15 A) fuse in the

under-hood fuse/relay box and
gauge assembly.
Repair open in the wire between
the METER (7.5 A) fuse in the
under-dash fuse/relay box and
body ground.
Meter relay stuck OFF.
Replace the under-hood fuse/
relay box or under-dash fuse/
relay box.

(Open circuit inside the fuse/
relay box)

Wire side of female terminals

Replace the TCS indicator light
bulb.

JUMPER WIRE

Replace the printed circuit board
in the gauge assembly.

Check the TCS indicator light bulb
in the gauge assembly.

Check for an open in the WARN
circuit:

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect the TCS control

unit 14P and 20P connectors.

3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
4. Connect the TCS control unit

HP connector terminal No. 2 or

20P connector terminal No. 17
to body ground with a jumper
wire.

Does the TCS indicator light
come on?

Check for an open in the LG cir-
cuit:

1. Connect the TCS control unit

14P and 20P connectors.

2. Connect the TCS control unit

14P connector terminal No. 4 or

20P connector terminal No. 15
to body ground with a jumper
wire.

Does the TCS indicator light
come on?

Check for loose TCS control unit
connectors. If necessary, substi-
tute a known-good TCS control
unit and recheck.

TCS Indicator Light Does Not Go Off

The TCS indicator light does not go off after the engine is started.

Is the fuse OK?

Check for an open in the IG1 cir-
cuit:

1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Measure the voltage between

the TCS control unit 20P con-

nector terminal No. 1 and
body ground.

Is there battery voltage?

Check for a short to body ground

in the WARN circuit:

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect TCS control unit

14P and 20P connectors.

3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

Does the TCS indicator light

come on?

Replace the fuse and recheck.

NOTE: Reinstall the fuse if it is OK.

TCS CONTROL UNIT 20P CONNECTOR

Wire side of female terminals

Repair open in the wire between

the ECU (20 A) fuse and TCS con-
trol unit.

Repair short to body ground in
the wire between the TCS indica-
tor light and TCS control unit.

Check for loose TCS control unit
connectors. If necessary, substi-
tute a known-good TCS control
unit and recheck.

With engine running, TCS indi-
cator light is ON.
With the SCS service connec-
tor connected (see page
