33. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 DOOR STIFFENER CUSHION

a. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips and stiffener cushion.

34. REMOVE FRONT DOOR PANEL PROTECTOR LH

a. Using a clip remover, detach the 11 clips and remove the door panel protector.

HINT:

If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.

35. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK ASSEMBLY LH

a. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and door check.

HINT:

Remove the door check through the service hole.

36. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP LH

a. Using a clip remover, detach the 43 clips and remove the weatherstrip.

HINT:

If clips are damaged during removal, replace them.

NOTE:

Be careful when removing the bolts as the door check may fall and
become damaged.

ADJUSTMENT

HINT:

Before adjusting the door position for vehicles equipped with side airbags and curtain shield airbags, be
sure to disconnect the battery. After adjustment, inspect the SRS warning light and check for DTC (see
DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM ).

Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be
adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts (w/ washers) when
making adjustments.

A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart (see SPECIFIED TORQUE
FOR STANDARD BOLTS
).

1. ADJUST FRONT DOOR

a. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

b. Using SST, loosen the body's hinge bolts and adjust the door's position.

SST 09812-00010

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the

negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt
pretensioner activation.

NOTE:

Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected
(see INITIALIZATION ).

c. Using SST, tighten the body's hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf)

d. Loosen the door's hinge bolts and adjust the door's position.

e. Tighten the door's hinge bolts after the adjustment.

Torque: 29 N*m (296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf)

f. Adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws with a T40 "TORX"

socket and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.
