Toyota Tundra. Manual — part 1227
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. READ DTC OUTPUT
a. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
b. Turn the ignition switch ON and turn the Techstream ON.
c. Enter the following menus: Powertrain/Engine and ECT/Trouble Codes.
d. Read DTCs.

DTC P0657 ACTUATOR SUPPLY VOLTAGE CIRCUIT/OPEN
DESCRIPTION
The ECM monitors the output voltage to the throttle actuator. This self-check ensures that the ECM is
functioning properly. The output voltage is usually 0 V when the ignition switch is turned OFF. If the output
voltage is higher than 7 volts when the ignition switch is turned OFF, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and set
a DTC when the ignition switch is turned ON.

NOTE:
If P0630 is set, the VIN must be input to the ECM using the
Techstream. However, all DTCs are cleared automatically by the
Techstream when inputting the VIN. If DTCs other than P0630 are set,
check them first.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
Read freeze frame data using the Techstream. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when
malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was
moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data
from the time the malfunction occurred.
1. CHECK DTC
a. Clear DTC (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
b. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
c. Disconnect the cable from the battery negative (-) terminal and wait for 1 minute.
d. Connect the cable to the battery negative (-) terminal.
e. Turn the ignition switch ON for 10 seconds.
f. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
g. Turn the ignition switch ON.

DTC P0724 BRAKE SWITCH "B" CIRCUIT HIGH
DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this circuit is to prevent the engine from stalling when brakes are suddenly applied while driving
in lock-up condition.
When the brake pedal is depressed, this switch sends a signal to the ECM. Then the ECM cancels the operation
of the lock-up clutch while braking is in progress.
DTC TROUBLE DETECTION CONDITION CHART
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
This DTC indicates that the stop light switch remains ON. When the stop light switch remains ON during "stop
and go" driving, the ECM interprets this as a fault in the stop light switch and the MIL comes on and the ECM
stores the DTC. The vehicle must stop (less than 1.86 mph [3 km/h]) and go (18.65 mph [30 km/h] or more) 5
times during 2 driving cycles, in order to detect a malfunction.
