Circuit operation

Turn lights

With the ignition switch in "ON" or "START", battery voltage is applied from "TURN(10A)" fuse to the flasher
unit through the hazard switch (Hazard switch is OFF). When the turn signal switch is turned to "LH" or "RH"
position, the flasher unit alternately opens and closes a solid state switch, which send pulses of battery voltage
to the "LH" or "RH" turn lights, side lights and indicator through turn switch. The appropriate lights and indicator
flash.

Harzard lights

Battery voltage is always applied from "HAZARD" fuse to the flasher unit through the R/W wire. The flasher unit
is grounded through B wire permanently. When the hazard switch is pressed battery voltage is applied to the
flasher unit through the hazard switch. The flasher until alternately opens and closes to a soild state switch
which sends pulses of battery voltage is applied to the turn lights, side lights and indicators through the hazard
switch. The lights and both indicators flash "ON" and "OFF" until the hazard switch open.

Troubleshooting

Turn signal lights do not operate.

Preliminary check :
Check an open lamp filament before proceeding with diagnosis. If bulb is damaged, check connection of the
bulb and replace bulb. In addition, check "TURN (10A)" fuse. If open, check for short to ground through the R/B
wire, replace fuse andcheck that all system electrical connectors mated correctly.

Step

Inspection

Action

11

Turn the turn signal switch to RH position. Perform diagnosis of RH side in the same way from step
9 to step 10.

Hazard function hazard does not operate.

Preliminary check:
Check an open lamp filament before proceeding with diagnosis. If bulb is damaged, check connection of the
bulb and repalce bulb. In addition, check "HAZARD(15A)" fuse. If open, check for short to ground though the
wire, replace fuse and check that all system electrical connectors mated correctly.
